This was after an agent watched her performance in her elementary school Christmas play and was impressed by her acting ability.
Kristen Stewart's first acting role was a nonspeaking role in the movie The Thirteenth Year. Thereafter, she appeared in The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas where she played the ring toss girl. Her next part was in The Safety of Objects, an independent film in which she took on the role of a tomboy daughter of a troubled single mother.
